Southwest Circuit
Uyuni
Ten thousand square kilometres of white salt, a mirror in the wet season and a cracked hexagonal plain in the dry — the anchor image of Bolivia, and only the beginning of the southwest.
Beyond the Salar itself, the southwest circuit runs south through the Eduardo Avaroa reserve: coloured lagoons stained red and green by minerals, flamingo colonies, geyser fields, the Árbol de Piedra and the Dalí desert, ending near the Chilean border at Laguna Verde.
Bolivexa operates Uyuni across the full service range — from well-run shared departures to fully private 4x4 expeditions with a dedicated driver-guide, satellite communication and the region's few genuinely comfortable lodges, including the salt-block hotels on the flat's edge.
Because weather rewrites the experience — mirror reflections need standing water, star photography needs clear dry-season skies — we brief partners on what a given travel window can and cannot promise.
